Dear Friends,

On Thursday / June / 3rd at 7 P.M. at UMI CAFE, Ottawa and AMEGA WAND Echo Drive 111, Townhous Nu. 7 , at 7:30 P.M. you  will have two more opportunities to see 4 documentaries, near 85min,  that I produced since last September, the time I have been at AlgonquinCollege, Documentary Productions School. Some of them are filmed earlier before my school started, some recently but they are all edited within the last 6 months.

This evening is also fundraising for my bigger projects that I will be filming this summer in my country. I provided more info below this regarding my short movies, fundraising concept and future projects.

After the screening, there will be time to share and ask questions about the filming experience or perhaps have discussions with some of my movie subjects. Please come and tell your friends and enemies to support and enjoy together this before anything else fun evening. It’s going to be a great gathering and your presence will make it even greater.

Thanks again for your support.

Peace

Vinko

The Films I Am Presenting:

Remic Magic movie, 22 minutes long, featuring our local artist John Ceprano and his extraordinary work and stone sculptures, Jessie Stuart, a musician and his organic water and stone-based instruments, and Natasha Royka, a dreamer and full-moon dancer at the same location.

TheWindow

is a 7min: 7sec long documentary that was filmed a year and a half ago, edited recently and selected by Radio Canada International for the Roots Challenge Contest. This is a story about a personal experience in my village of Janjac, in Bosnia. After the last civil war, I had an opportunity to contemplate the duality of life and death through the illusionary window of an abandoned, and largely destroyed house. Being in that spot at that time, I consciously chose life over death by looking into the magic of sunlight, the beauty of nature and the village, as well as the simplicity of people's lives.

Feedback from the online audience has been extraordinary, and I would love to share it with you.

This is a link to the article written by Algonquin Times Magazine at Algonquin College regarding my movies. Please check it out if you have a minute.

The Bosnian Pyramids

is 13:33 minutes long and it was filmed a year and a half ago when I was guided by a man who discovered them, Semir Osmanagic, archaeologist and very often called the Indiana Jones of the Balkans.

What Semir discovered is an ancient pyramidal complex in Visoko, Bosnia that consists of five colossal stone structures in the shape of the pyramids with an extensive pre-historical underground tunnel network.

Also, I was blessed to have been guided by two 11-year-old schoolboys who had been thoroughly educated about the pyramids. Their charm and knowledge is extraordinary and supported by detailed facts provided by Semir Osmanagic. You are sure to love that part of the story.

Real People:

is 44:44 sec long documentary and is presenting most ordinary people from my village in Bosnia. Their loyalty to the lifestyle, to the environment, simplicity of life, deep understanding of prayer and spirituality is depicted through this movie. They are without any official education, do not watch TV or read books, but their understanding and wisdom is beyond many "educated" people. The rest  you should see.

Fundraising:

In early summer, I will be heading to Bosnia to film the excavation process of the pyramids, conduct interviews, and whatever else has to be done in order to finish filming of the full-length Mystery of the Bosnian Pyramids movie.

In addition to this, I will be working on another big project that will also turn into a full-length movie. It is about people from my country who survived one or two wars, and will feature their wisdom, survival knowledge, and most importantly their own messages for our future generations and us based on their own experiences of life, peace and war.

That evening will also be available a DVD with all my documentaries together. The funds raised during this event will go toward the purchase of a camera needed for my filming in Bosnia.

If you cannot attend this event and still would like to donate and be part of my movie making process, please contact Vinko directly. It would be greatly appreciated.

In Peace And Light
